Hinds CC names Most Beautiful in annual Beauty Revue

RAYMOND — Shelby Lynn Simmons of Waynesboro was selected as Most Beautiful in the annual Hinds Community College Eagle Beauty Revue pageant on Thursday, Nov. 10.

The pageant is sponsored by the Eagle yearbook on the Raymond Campus.

Simmons, 20, a Raymond Campus sophomore, plans to major in Paralegal or Barbering. She is a graduate of Wayne County High School who has been an Eagle cheerleader and a member of the homecoming court. She plans to attend Mississippi State University in the fall of 2017 to complete a bachelor’s degree. Her parents are Lynn and Chip Simmons.

Other beauties selected were Meagan Barnhart, Molly Hunter, Courtney Jamison, Catherine Lloyd and Natalie Scurlock.

Barnhart, 20, of Florence, is a sophomore on the Raymond Campus who is studying Respiratory Care Technology. She is a graduate of Florence High School where she participated in Key Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She is a captain on the Hinds Hi-Steppers precision dance team. Her parents are Mark and Liz Barnhart.

Hunter, 19, of Brandon, is a freshman on the Rankin Campus who is studying Interior Design. She is a graduate of Brandon High School who won Miss Teen Magnolia State 215 and Miss Teen Gulf Shores 2016. She plans to earn a degree in Interior Design and travel extensively. Her parents are Tommy and Tara Hunter.

Jamison, 18, of Florence, is a freshman on the Raymond Campus who is studying Education. She is a graduate of Florence High School where she graduated with honors and was homecoming queen. At Hinds, she is a member of the cheerleader team and the yearbook staff. She plans to pursue a degree in Secondary Education. Her parents are Jamie and Kym Jamison.

Lloyd, 18, of Hernando, is a freshman on the Raymond Campus who is studying Radiology. She is a graduate of Hernando High School where she graduated with a 4.0 GPA and participated in Fellowship of Christian Athletes. At Hinds, she plays softball and plans to join Phi Theta Kappa. She also plans to work in research medicine once she earns her degree. Her parents are Kevin and Lacey Lloyd.

Scurlock, 19, is a freshman on the Raymond Campus who is studying Business Administration. She is a graduate of Copiah Academy where she was an honors graduate. At Hinds, she is a member of Hinds Connection. She plans to pursue a degree in business at Mississippi State University. Her parents are Kathy and Tommy Purser.

Hinds CC hosting annual yearbook Eagle Beauty Revue Thursday

RAYMOND – Twenty-five Hinds Community College women compete Thursday, Nov. 10 in the annual Eagle Beauty Revue at Cain-Cochran Hall on the Raymond Campus.

The annual pageant sponsored by The Eagle yearbook staff begins at 7 p.m.

Admission is $2 for a student with Hinds Community College ID, free for Hinds employees with an ID and $5 for members of the public.

The winner of the pageant is featured in The Eagle yearbook, which covers locations at Jackson, Pearl, Raymond and Vicksburg.

Contestants include Meagan Barnhart, of Florence, Alyssa Berry, of Pearl, Madison Jade Bishop, of Sebastopol, Mallory Bunkley, of Brandon, Kayla Cook, of Richland, Ayana Davis, of Clinton, Ivy Depriest, of Brandon, Sara Dew, of Yazoo City, Alicia Drummond, of Laurel, Jennifer Granger, of Greenville, Margaret Hand, of Auburn, Ala., De’lexus Harris, of Terry, Anna Hite, of Raymond, Jalisa Hughes, of Jackson, Molly Hunter, of Brandon, Courtney Jamison, of Florence, Kristin Josh, of Carthage, Catherine Lloyd, of Hernando, Arkeisha Martin, of Raymond, Jaemie Grace Morato, of Richland, Rae Patridge, of Brandon, Brooke Patterson, of Vicksburg, Baylee Ponder, of Brandon, Natalie Scurlock, of Copiah County,  and Shelby Lynn Simmons, of Wayne County.

Hinds CC names Most Beautiful in annual Eagle Beauty Revue

Mary Menger Jones of Benton was selected as Most Beautiful in the annual Hinds Community College Eagle Beauty Revue pageant on Nov. 19.

The pageant is sponsored by the Eagle yearbook on the Raymond Campus.

Jones, 18, is a Raymond Campus freshman who plans to major in nursing. She is a graduate of Benton Academy who participated in Tri Beta and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She plans to become a pediatric oncology nurse practitioner. Her parents are Ginny and Billy Jones.

Other beauties selected were Meagan Barnhart, Alisha Hickinbottom, Brennon McDowell and Shelby Simmons.

Barnhart, 19, of Florence is a sophomore on the Raymond Campus who is majoring in sonography.  She is a graduate of Florence High School where she participated in Key Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She is a member of the Hinds Hi-Steppers precision dance team. Her parents are Mark and Liz Barnhart.

Hickinbottom, 20, of Oxford is a freshman on the Raymond Campus who is pursuing sports medicine. She is a graduate of Lafayette High School where she participated in Tri Beta and band. Her parents are Tanice Upshaw and Ray Charles Hickinbottom.

McDowell, 18, of Brandon is a freshman on the Rankin Campus who is majoring in engineering. She is an honor graduate of Brandon High School who was Miss Rankin County in 2012 and was a Mississippi Scholars candidate. She is involved as a volunteer with the Mississippi Down Syndrome Society. Her parents are Kimber and Jonathan McDowell.

Simmons, 19, of Raymond is a sophomore on the Raymond Campus who is pursuing a career in law. She is a graduate of Wayne County High School and was 2015 Wayne County Miss Hospitality. She was a sophomore maid on the Hinds homecoming court in October and has been an Eagle cheerleader for two years. Her parents are Lynn and Charles Simmons.
